Mexico Vs. Panama Gold Cup Winner?

Wednesday, July 24, 2013 - 0 Comments

Considering the hisotry of these two teams, Mexico has won many more times and has scored over 200% more then Panama.  Panama has been playing a much better game in this series and already won their opener against Mexico.  And the highest scoring teams usually win cups, which in this case the Panama team shows another advantage.

In past tournaments, Mexico generally starts off a little slow and gets stronger as they move through tournaments.  We will see how the lineups start the first half.  Our prediction is Mexico will win it.  If they don't, then they need to fire their head coach and leave the olympic coach to close the series for mexico to qualify for the world cup.

It is clear there are players for mexico that should replace the Veterans representing the main team for the national position.  Our surprise for this series is the player Ayun, who moves quickly and makes great lateral movement and passing for potential strikes.. something that is working better then other players playing this position for the national team.

GOLD CUP USMNT up over El Salvador 2-1 at the half

Sunday, July 21, 2013 - 0 Comments

The US defense is much improved, passing is faster and more accurate and the give/go on the right flank is creating most of the opportunities.  The left side with Beasley is weak and Don is much weak on this side.  The US is very dependent on this side, any counter defense can measure this up and close the holes for the US.

Zelaya runs the ball forward and shows great dribble skills and depth, but lacks the strength to strike and doesn't dish off decent passes and he breaks through defenses.  El Salvador is too reliant on this player but he's doing a great job trying to score.  He scored his teams only goal by way of penalty in the first half.  Lets stay tuned and see how the game progresses.

The winner moves on the semi finals against the winner of the next match.

Game is live on:

When: Sunday, July 21, at 4 p.m. ET
Where: M&T Bank Stadium, Baltimore, Md.
Watch: FOX
Live Stream: FOX Soccer 2Go
